Krisztina Athanasakis purchased her 2014 Ford Mustang GT in stock condition as a daily driver in 2015. Approximately six months after obtaining the car, she joined a car club and was introduced to the custom car show scene for the first time. She instantly fell in love with the concept of customizing a vehicle and began the process of doing so herself. Having lived in New York City for over 30 years without so much as owning a vehicle, much less building one, she soon realized this new hobby came with a learning curve.

Over the last seven years, she has built the car into what it is today. It was the winner of the 2020 FCCS Students’ Choice award, sponsored by Universal Technical Institute, and was selected to participated in the 2022 Barrett-Jackson Cup. The Mustang features a custom-painted engine manifold cover and coil covers under the hood, along with a custom-painted JLT cold-air intake, a JLT oil separator, a carbon-fiber radiator cover, and a coolant tank and fuse box cover from Trufiber. The engine breathes through a Pypes axle-back exhaust — retrofitted with resonators and black tips.

The Mustang’s stance comes from Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs, Metco upper and lower rear control arms, and a BMR rear-adjustable Panhard bar. Stopping power comes from a set of StopTech drilled and slotted rotors with Centric Posi Quiet ceramic disc brake pads. It rides on a set of Konig Oversteer 20×9.5 wheels, ceramic-coated and powder-coated in Gloss Black and secured with a Gorilla Racing lug nut kit in black forged steel.

The exterior features a two-tone wrap design composed of Avery Dennison gloss Obsidian Black and the factory red paint. The doors have received a vertical doors conversion with parts from Vertical Doors Inc., and it includes an upper and lower front grille conversion, a fog light relocation kit, a rear spoiler, rear window louvers and side scoops from a California Special Edition Mustang. Up front is a MMD V2 chin spoiler complemented by an MMD rear valance diffuser with MMD Gloss-Black taillight trim. Carbon-fiber accents include the decklid panel, license plate surrounding and hood vents from Trufiber. The Mustang is complete with underglow LED lighting.

Inside, this Mustang has a carbon-fiber dash and trim kit, carbon-fiber steering wheel accents, custom floor mats, a custom trunk interior, and LED interior and trunk lighting.
