Luxe and City will stage Style Comp: Future Classic ‘Collections’
Automotive styling and fashion design both involve the use of textiles, with materials chosen, cut and stitched with specific purposes in mind, whether to clothe a vehicle’s interior or a human body.
With that in mind, ClassicCars.com and Luxe and City are combining for a special feature during the 5th annual Future Collectors Car Show. Luxe and City, a creative agency and members’ club for the arts and cultural industries, will stage its Style Comp: Future Classic “Collections” on the High Street runway during the car show on January 12.
Luxe and City creates events and environments to showcase innovative individuals while demonstrating how creative industries fit and work together. Through business, community, design and events, Luxe and City provides special services to members and clients, supporting growth within the fashion industry.
“Arizona is home base for us and we’re always looking for opportunities to support those local brands,” said ClassicCars.com chief executive Roger Falcione.
“Luxe and City is engaging a new generation of creative professionals by giving them a platform to highlight their capabilities, exactly like our show. Collaborating with their team has given us another opportunity to highlight creative and passionate people like the owners of the show cars.”
The 3rd annual Style Comp will feature seven local stylists and seven different styling themes, though each stylist is required to inspire one model’s presentation based on the 2019 Future Collectors Car Show Best of Show-winning 2004 Subaru WRX STi owned by John Darling. The idea is to demonstrate how to transition design elements from one industry to another.
The competing stylists and their themes include:

Randi England – @mozzerati – Futuristic
Joseph Cruz – @kayseeareus – 1970s
Endira Diaz – – @endira – 1990s
Brenton Jones – @brenton_joness – Futuristic
Shannon Campbell – @shancamp – 1920s
Berly Baray – @berlybaray -1960s
Models will walk the runway on the main road at the High Street commercial district, where the winner will be chosen in a vote of show attendees and a panel of expert judges. Among the judges will be Jazmine Nash, 2019 Style Comp winner and creative director of House of Gaia.
Among the prizes for the winning stylist is a spot in Phoenix Fashion Week’s Spring Show in March.
The style competition on January 12 is scheduled for 2 p.m.
