ClassicCars.com announces Future Classic Car Show rebranded as Future Collector Car Show as show focus broadens

To highlight the collectors as well as their amazing cars, the 5th annual Future Classic Car Show presented by ClassicCars.com, the world’s largest online automotive marketplace, is being renamed as the Future Collector Car Show that will welcome any make, model and year for newly established award categories and relocated to High Street, Phoenix AZ.

Previous events were restricted to cars produced in or since 1975 and highlighted “future classics.” However, after four years the term “classic” has evolved. The term “instant classic” has been established, making it near impossible to classify a “future classic,” but “collector” can refer to anyone in the hobby of any age.

As younger people enter the collector car hobby, they bring a fresh look to the collector car landscape and these collectors should be celebrated as much as the cars that they own.

To facilitate this, ClassicCars.com also is modifying the awards included in the show to better suit the needs and interests of new collectors.

The 2020 FCCS awards will be:

Best of Show
Simply the best car of the entire event across all categories.

Best Modified Vehicle (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)
These are the cars that by the quality of the modifications and the attention to detail and complexity of the work performed best exemplify the idea of a modified car. Special emphasis will be given to owners who have modified their cars themselves.

Best Preserved
The single best all-original car at the show. While this may tend to be the best single example, additional factors such as the age of each car will be factored into the award decision. An amazingly unrestored 1973 Toyota Celica GT is likely to win when up against an original 4th generation Toyota Supra.

Best Restored
Originality is the key. The restored class is not a modified car class unless those modifications were available from the factory when that car was new.

Rookie of the Year (16-25 owners age)
This award is for a first time show attendee, especially for someone who has never shown a car anywhere before.

Fan Favorite!
Spectators can vote on their favorite vehicle.

Students Choice sponsored by Universal Technical Institute
This award will be decided by the students from the Universal Technical Institute Avondale campus.

Best Trunk sponsored by Slime
The best place to put your tire repair kit is your trunk, so Slime decided to offer this new award to highlight the most well displayed trunk.
